Achieving Emotions

For all my life, there was one answer to complains I had against my caretakers. There was one answer I always got when I said to others that I was being abused, "Achieve XYZ in life, make them feel proud and they'll stop. Get ABC job, and then it won't affect you at all."

The society's answer to abuse is gain power, become more powerful and then it won't matter or worse you'll be able to take revenge. A society which functions on this rotten logic of jungle justice is bound to fail.

Let me tell you what happens when you achieve something, which in social terms defines power/success - NOTHING. Absolutely nothing changes. You're still broken to the core. You still require emotional support.

The only thing that changes is when you complain about things, when you tell someone you don't feel good, they tell you to not overthink because you have a job in hand. They tell you how everyone envies you for people will die for this opportunity. Be grateful.

Nobody takes into account that your emotional needs are still unmet. They will tell you that you're thinking too much, no I am just thinking, if I could make it stop, I would have.

Professional/academic achievements have been substituted with emotional well being of humans in this country. It has been projected that if you're intelligent, you should not be emotional and 'you should not make your talent go to waste' - another cliché that is thrown around.

Well let me tell you, you can't achieve positive or for that matter, negative emotions. Whatever you may do.
